L’exposition des finalistes pour les prix d’excellence Nonesuch pour les arts papier ouvrira à Montréal le vendredi 1 décembre. L’exposition montrera quelques-unes des nombreuses façons de créer de l’art sur ou avec du papier.
Il y aura une réception ~ vernissage le samedi, 2 décembre de 13h à 17h à 141 rue Ann (Griffintown, Montréal). L’exposition restera à Montréal jusqu’au 16 décembre. Il y aura une réception ~ finissage le samedi, 16 décembre de 17h à 21h. Les lauréats seront annoncés pendant le finissage.
L’entrée est gratuite / par donation
Cette année, il y a eu plus de 220 soumissions de 16 pays, dont 131 provenant du Canada avec 51 de la région maritime et 68 du Québec. Les expositions montrent plus de 80 œuvres d’artistes en Argentine, Australie, Belgique, Canada, Colombie, Allemagne, Israël, Italie, Japon, Nouvelle-Zélande, Pologne, Suisse et États-Unis.
Six prix seront décernés: quatre sélectionnés par le jury et deux prix public, les prix Wellington Church, sélectionnées par le vote des visiteurs lors des expositions de Parrsboro et de Montréal.
Le catalogue de l’exposition sera disponible pour l’achat sur place pour 30$ + hst. Le catalogue de 8.5 x 11″ à 65 pages qui inclut des photographies et une description de chaque œuvre acceptée pour les expositions, ainsi que des biographies courtes d’artistes. The Nonesuch Art Of Paper Awards exhibition in Montreal will open on Friday, 1 December. The exhibition of finalists will show some of the many ways of creating art on or with paper.
There is an opening reception ~ vernissage on Saturday, 2 December from 1pm to 5pm at 141 rue Ann (Griffintown, Montreal). The exhibition will remain in Montreal until 16 December. There will be a closing reception / finissage on Saturday, 16 December from 5pm to 9pm. The award recipients will be announced during the closing reception.
Admission is free / by donation.
This year there were over 220 submissions from 16 countries, 131 of these from Canada with 51 from the maritime region and 68 from Quebec. The exhibitions include more than 80 works from artists in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Switzerland, and the United States.
Six awards will be given: four selected by jury and two people’s choice awards, the Wellington Church awards, selected by visitor voting during the Parrsboro and Montreal exhibitions.
The print catalogue of the show will be available for purchase at the exhibition for $30 + hst. The 65 page, 8.5 x 11″ coil-bound catalogue includes photographs and a description of each artwork accepted for the exhibitions, short artist biographies, and some background about the awards and Main & Station Nonesuch.
