Sculptor Laura Marcos takes inspiration from Parrsboro’s important fossil deposits.
Argentinian by birth, Marcos spent several years in Waverley, Nova Scotia and her stone Fossils, now installed on Main Street in front of Main & Station, are carved from locally sourced granite.
Installing Fossils required 2 days and culminated with a celebration at the performance of For Body and Light’s Coming and Going, a contemporary performance inspired by historic Parrsboro and the movement of the tides in the Minas Basin.
