Awards & Special Mentions: Nonesuch Art of Paper Awards

Main & Station is delighted to announce the following Award recipients and Special Mentions for the 2016 Nonesuch Art Of Paper Awards ~~ Main & Station est heureux d’annoncer les lauréats suivants et mentions spéciales des prix d’excellence Nonesuch pour les arts papier pour 2016

The Wellington Church Award (People’s Choice Award) was announced in Montreal at the end of the exhibition.  The voting was very close and finally it is a TIE and the award goes to both Yoshimasa Tsuruta’s sculpture Fallen Angel and Bruce St.Clair’s painting Three Gables.

Le prix Wellington Church, le prix publique, était sélectionner par le vote des visiteurs lors des expositions à Parrsboro et Montréal~~~  est de 500 dollars en plus d’une résidence de 2 semaines à Main & Station Nonesuch. Le prix est décerné à Fallen Angel par Yoshimasa Tsuruta ET à Three Gables de Bruce St.Clair.

The Nonesuch Best Work Award is 5000 dollars plus a 3-week residency at Main & Station (Nonesuch Art Centre) in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia.  The award goes to Untitled by Helene deWinter.

Le prix Nonesuch pour la meilleure œuvre est de 5000 dollars en plus d’une résidence de 3 semaines à Main & Station (Nonesuch Art Centre) à Parrsboro, NS. Le prix est décerné à Untitled par Helene de Winter.

Poetry Night with Richard Dittami

On Tuesday, September 6 at 8pm come out for Poetry at the PO with featured poet Richard Dittami.

Retired from the Laborers International Union, Richard Dittami is a poet from Massachusetts who first came to Nova Scotia on a walkabout in 2003 and has been back every year since.

Richard writes constantly and has done so for many a year.  He has read at various venues in both Massachusetts and Nova Scotia.

Mid morning
Churches dot the country side
Shouldering with Jesus fumes like stubbed out cigarettes.
Wrapping paper is torn and crumpled
Feasts split open like overripe fruit.
High tide of Xmas.
The collective psyche returns
like schooling fish to open water…
